Black Children’s Book Week Discussion

Watch a live stream replay where I joined a panel of colleagues to discuss the importance of Black Children’s Books in Special Education.

I haven’t seen any wide-ranging discussions on representation in books for children with special needs. It brings me joy to participate in bringing this topic to the table. The more I speak about the importance of black children’s books the more critical I realize pushing this agenda becomes. It shouldn’t just be important for black children but for all children. Learning of the book bannings taking place across schools in this country makes this mission feel urgent. Please check out the video, share, and comment.
